Who Moderates
Scribble Strife is moderated by a team of staff members with Moderator or Administrator roles. Staff accounts are identified by a role badge on their profile. Staff are held to the same content rules as regular users and may not use moderation tools to settle personal disputes.
What Gets Actioned
Reports are reviewed for violations of the Terms of Service and site Rules. Moderators may action content or accounts for:
- Prohibited content as defined in the Terms of Service
- Inaccurate content tagging or deliberate filter evasion
- Harassment of other users in comments, profiles, or messages
- Abuse of site features such as false reporting or block evasion
- Repeat minor violations after prior warnings
- Conduct that harms the safety or wellbeing of the community
Possible Actions
Depending on the severity of the violation, moderators may:
- Remove the offending content
- Issue a formal warning
- Temporarily suspend the account
- Permanently ban the account
Permanent bans are issued for serious violations including child safety violations, sustained harassment campaigns, and repeated violations after prior bans. The reason for a ban is recorded and displayed to the banned user at login.
Strikes and Seasons
Moderators may reject Strike submissions that violate content rules or contain inaccurate information. Rejected Strikes do not award Ink. Artists may not resubmit a rejected Strike for the same piece in the same season.
How to Report
Use the Report button on any artwork, character page, profile, or comment to submit a report. Reports are reviewed by the moderation team. Provide as much context as possible. False or bad-faith reports may result in action against the reporting account.
Appeals
To appeal a moderation decision, contact the moderation team through our Discord or the contact information on our profile. Include your username and a description of the situation. Appeals for permanent bans issued for child safety violations will not be considered under any circumstances.
Response Times
Scribble Strife is a volunteer-run community. We aim to review reports within a few days but cannot guarantee specific response times. Urgent safety concerns, particularly those involving minors, are prioritized.
Zero tolerance
Content that sexualizes minors or that is unlawful to create or possess under United States federal law results in an immediate permanent ban with no warning and no appeal. This applies regardless of framing, stated intent, or prior standing on the site.
